After having studied in Argentina with J.Bondar. L.Spiller and in Spain with P.Kotliarewskaia, Jose Luis García and Pierro Farulli, Andrés Gabetta finished his studies at the Musikhochschule Basel with Raphaël Oleg and Gerard Wyss, as well as at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis with Christophe Coin.

 

He won the first prize and the revelation prize at Piracicaba, Sâo Paolo, Brazil, the first prize at the International Competition of Córdoba, Argentina, as well the Mayo Bank Competition at Buenos Aires, Argentina.

 

He has given many concerts in North and South America, Europe, China, Singapore and Japan. He performs regularly in many international festivals such as the International Festival of Lucerne, the “Les folles journées de Nantes”, the “Mozart Salzburg Festival”, the “Innsbruck Musikfesttagen”, the “Festa da Musica” in Lisbon, and “La Folle journée au Japon” in Tokyo.

 

Andrés Gabetta is concert master of the “Ensemble baroque de Limoges” under the direction of Christophe Coin, is first violin of the “Authentica Quartett”, and he plays regulary as solo-violin with the “Orchestre de Chambre de Neuchâtel”, the “Menuhin Festival Orchestra” , the “Kammerorchester Basel"

 

In 2004 Andrés Gabetta together with the trumpet player Niklas Eklund founded the “Swiss Baroque Soloists”, and has been the concert master and artistic director ever since. He record the Brandenburg Concertos with this ensemble for the label NAXOS with wich he is nominate for the Grammy’s Award 2008

 

Other recordings of Andrés Gabetta include the Octuors and Nocturnes of Haydn with “Ensemble baroque of Limoges” together with Christophe Coin (Prix Choc, Le monde de la musique 2007)

He performs chamber music regularly as a soloist with Christophe Coin, Patrick Cohen and Willem Jansen.

 

Since 2008 Andrés Gabetta is leading a violin Class at the Montbéliard Conservatory
